Embed2Scale session on EGU General Assembly 2025
We are excited to announce that the Embed2Scale project has been selected for a session at the upcoming EGU General Assembly 2025, one of the leading geoscience conferences in Europe, which will take place in Vienna, Austria & online on 27 April–2 May 2025.
Our session, titled “Pre-training Strategies for Geospatial Foundation Models” will showcase the groundbreaking advancements our team is making in Earth Observation data processing, using state-of-the-art AI compressors.
About the Session
As data from Earth Observation continues to expand, the sheer volume presents significant challenges in terms of storage, accessibility and analysis. Our project is solving this with AI-powered embeddings that radically reduce data size, while maintaining data utility for multiple downstream tasks. With compression ratios reaching up to 1000x, this innovation drastically enhances the speed and efficiency of data discovery and analysis in fields ranging from climate change monitoring to agricultural analysis and maritime awareness.
This session will explore how these advanced AI compressors are transforming the geospatial data landscape by enabling decentralised applications and promoting wider accessibility of Copernicus and other satellite data for diverse applications.
