The Embed2Scale contributions accepted at EGU 2025
We are pleased to announce that four contributions from the Embed2Scale consortium have been accepted for presentation at the EGU General Assembly 2025, one of the leading geoscience conferences in Europe, taking place in Vienna & online on 27 April – 2 May 2025.
These contributions showcase cutting-edge advancements in AI-powered compression and embedding techniques for Earth Observation (EO) data, supporting more efficient data processing, storage and analysis.
The accepted contributions are:
- A Practical Guide to Hyperspectral Foundation Models by Conrad M Albrecht, Ruben Gonzalez, Nassim Ait Ali Braham, Ranjini Bangalore, Thomas Brunschwiler.
- Earth Observation embeddings at the test: A novel benchmark to evaluate (neural) compression for satellite imagery by Rikard Vinge, Michael Marszalek, Jannik Schneider, Conrad M Albrecht.
- Neural Embedding Compression for Earth Observation Data – an Ablation Study by Amelie Koch, Isabelle Wittmann, Carlos Gomes, Rikard Vinge, Michael Marszalek, Conrad M Albrecht, Thomas Brunschwiler.
- Scalable Efficient Compression in Large-Scale Earth Observation by Erik Scheurer, Jiangtao Wang, Rocco Sedona, Stefano Maurogiovanni, Benedikt Blumenstiel, Johannes Jakubik, Paolo Fraccaro, Thomas Brunschwiler, Stefan Kesselheim, Gabriele Cavallaro.
We look forward to presenting our research findings at EGU 2025 and engage with the wider geospatial and AI communities.
