SatCen invites abstract submissions for Climate-Security and Civil Security sessions at ESA’s Living Planet Symposium 2025
The European Union Satellite Centre (SatCen) is going to be co-chairing two key sessions at the upcoming ESA Living Planet Symposium (LPS) 2025, taking place from 23–27 June in Vienna, Austria. This highly anticipated event, organised by the European Space Agency, will gather experts, researchers and stakeholders in Earth Observation (EO) to explore advancements and innovations across various domains.
Submit Your Abstracts
SatCen encourages experts to contribute by submitting abstracts for one of the following sessions:
B.02.03: Climate-Security Nexus: From R&I to Applications (Theme B)
Now in its third edition following successful sessions at LPS19 and LPS22, this session explores the intersections of climate and security. It will showcase research and insights into the Climate-Security nexus, focusing on how EO data and other relevant information sources can be leveraged to understand and address climate-related security risks.
D.02.05: EO-Based Solutions for Civil Security Scenarios (Theme D)
This session seeks to enhance the EO community’s engagement in civil security by presenting innovative approaches to data-driven solutions. Topics will cover Machine Learning, Data Fusion, Advanced Image Processing, and other technologies to support civil security applications along the data value chain.
These sessions offer a valuable platform to discuss how EO technology can address emerging security challenges, from climate-related impacts to civil security needs.
